- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Golden Girl -- Path to Maturity : Lilliane Moore is an adult (38 yrs) who has never actually grown up. She is emotionally stuck in her past as an 18 year old, who suddenly lost both of her parents. She still lives in the family's home, where nothing has been changed. She was working as a cashier at the local small town, had friends, but nobody close, no love interest and no future plans. She is offered a 2 week job as a companion to a 90 yr old gentleman, who lives miles away, on the coast. This is a huge challenge for Lilliane, who has never traveled, nor seen the ocean. She needs the money, but takes the challenge reluctantly. Soon she meets Mr. Merrick Dahl, who is just as 'quick at the mouth' and set in his ways as she is. The job opens her eyes to possibilities and opportunities she never realized she could experience. She found not only a mentor but a true friend in Merrick. The story was realistic and the characters were believable and well developed. It was a very enjoyable read. ( Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2021 )

The job offer to be a companion to author Merrick Dahl at the beach in Emerald Isle was unexpected and a life changer for her. While she was thinking of all the repairs needed on her home, she could never imagine what this temporary move would bring to her life, her future.
